AFCI works with local churches in countries around the world with a three-fold thrust:
- Revival in the church
- Evangelism through the church
- Training for the church
Rather than simply working alongside the local church, the ministry of AFCI is focused on the local church itself. We minister into the life of local churches in 25 nations!

Churches all over the world need to be revived if they are to minister effectively to the people in their nations. Too many churches have lost their ability to reach out because they have lost their passion for Christ.
AFCI provides a biblical message, combined with practical tools, to help local churches recover their ability to reach out in relevant ways to their own people.
One example of an AFCI tool is our GrowthWorks course. You can read about this on the Restarting Your Faith page. GrowthWorks was developed in Australia by John North and is already being used in hundreds of churches.

One of our Core Values is “openness to new methods of ministry that meet the needs of the time and culture.” Our AFCI national teams work with local churches to put into practice relevant evangelistic methods that will best reach today’s society in the nation they are working. Our Lifeworks course is one small group evangelism method churches are using to reach people in post-modern nations.
AFCI teams also seek to share Christ by working with local churches to meet physical needs of people in their nations. In Zambia, our Director Mark Kaoma has helped to establish homes for orphans whose parents have died from AIDS. In South America, we have helped provide literacy training for women who have been neglected by their society. In Asia we have provided a source of water for rural villages without any wells. Efforts such as these, and more, help bring validity to the Gospel messenger.

Many pastors and church leaders desperately need training to minister effectively to their churches. AFCI offers vital training to develop practical ministry and leadership skills, including personal spiritual development. In under-resourced nations, pastors are often so hungry for training they will walk several days to attend an AFCI event.
In some AFCI nations we have established training centers and Bible Colleges where set curriculums are used to address the needs of the specific culture. This is helping to build the next generation of church leaders.
