Property Crisis Brings Ministry Opportunity |
Location: St. Vincent
Over the past year, National Director of St. Vincent and the Grenadines Veral Blake and his wife Norma have been struggling with a potential catastrophe in their backyard. Over the years, rain runoff pouring through a ravine behind their home has eroded the land, creating a 35 foot precipice which is now threatening their house.
To protect their home, they need to build a large, costly retaining wall. In November, they began the first phase of the project, constructing a stone wall to about 13 feet above the level of the river.
“The Lord has blessed us with some hard working men who have had to lift very heavy boulders,” Veral reports. “The Lord has blessed us with the opportunity to minister to these men each day before they begin to work. Only one is a believer. I read the Scripture and pray with them in a devotion time. I constantly emphasize that they are not working for Veral and Norma Blake, but for the Lord since this project involves Him.”
