AFCI Nigeria |
AFCI Nigeria is part of the Africa & Middle East Region.
The ministry of AFCI Nigeria focuses on:
- Evangelistic outreach with local churches – There are eight evangelists on the team seeking to win the lost and disciple them. In poor rural areas, many opportunities to present the Gospel have been created by meeting the need for food, education, and healthcare.
- Training – AFCI Nigeria conferences and seminars are developing Christian workers to become effective ministers who can influence the nation for Christ. Those lacking formal training have been significantly impacted.
- Pastoral Development – Team members are teaching discipleship and evangelism courses in Bible colleges, seminaries, and theological conferences.
- Adoption of Unreached People - Along with a local church, AFCI Nigeria has "adopted" the Ibaribas and the Igede/Gatte groups to see them come to the saving knowledge of Christ.
Nigeria is Africa’s most populace nation with more than 250 ethnic groups with English being the official language. The country’s landscape is varied with tropical forests in the South merging into Savannah in the North. Nigeria is divided into 36 States and Abuja is the capital city. There is "Freedom of Religion" but most northern states have given preferential treatment to Islam and have ignored incidents of Muslim persecution of Christians. About 50% of Nigerians are Christian and 40% are Muslim.
